Destiny 2’s first raid goes live one week after launch

Don’t expect to know much going in

Destiny 2’s first raid will go live at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, Sept. 13, one week after the game launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Destiny 2 director Luke Smith announced the timing on his personal Twitter account.

Don’t expect to know, well, anything about the raid before it goes live. “There will be no Raid tease for Destiny 2's first Raid,” Smith said. It’s not uncommon for Bungie to keep the details of Destiny raids tightly under wraps, though that doesn’t stop some high-level players from sprinting through them in a matter of hours.

While one week of lead time probably won’t give most Destiny 2 players enough runway to be ready for the raid, it will at least be easier to find other players who are raid-ready, thanks to Bungie’s new guided games option.

Smith also put a date on Destiny 2’s version of Trials. The team-based competitive mode will go live in Destiny 2 on Friday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. PT.
