Xbox One owners, the Call of Duty: WWII beta kicks off Sept 1.
There’s still time to get a key and start pre-loading the game
The second private beta for Call of Duty: WWII starts this Friday, Sept. 1 and will include Xbox One owners who preordered the game for the first time.
PlayStation 4 owners who preordered the game have had access to the beta since last week. Developer Sledgehammer Games has this second beta scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET Sept. 1.
Both betas will end at 1 p.m. ET on Sept 4.
If you’re a customer of Comcast’s Xfinity Internet service you can get access to the beta without a pre-order by visiting a special landing page and requesting a code.
The beta includes three multiplayer maps, including Pointe Du Hoc along the Normandy Coast, a forested area in the Ardennes that saw fierce fighting during the Battle of the Bulge and a map set in Gibraltar. Three modes will be available, including Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint. There will also be access to the new War mode, a see-saw battle over multiple objectives in St. Lo, France.
Also included in the beta will be a glimpse of Divisions, WWII’s revamped class system of sorts. It will allow players to join either the Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored or Mountain Divisions which each have unique weapons and perks to unlock.
There is no beta scheduled for the Windows PC version of the game.
