The Best 2017 Amazon Prime Day Deals — So Far!

If you haven't heard already, the third annual Amazon Prime Day is quickly approaching. This year's mega-sale, which some might say is Christmas in July for Amazon Prime members, will hit its stride on July 11 but deals start kicking off as early at 9 p.m EDT on July 10.

In order to qualify for the "hundred of thousands of deals" that Amazon promises, you'll need to be an Prime member, which cost $99 per year. If you haven't already signed up, you can take advantage of a 30-day free trial here. If you cancel before the trial period is over, you won't be charged.

While we're still a few days out, there are deals to be had already. Through this weekend, Amazon is running a few promotions that you can snag right now. Here are the highlights:

• Get four months of Amazon Music Unlimited for just $0.99.

• Earn a $10 credit when you stream a Prime video for the first time on your television.

• Get a Kindle Unlimited subscription for up to 40% off for a limited time.

• Get 40% off a six-month subscription to Audible.

• Starting July 8 through Prime Day: Take an additional 20% off select brands like Sonos, Le Creuset, Crock-Pots, Samsung TVs, Amazon Tap and Fire HD Tablets and more on Amazon Warehouse Deals.

If you have an Alexa-enabled device, like an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot, you'll have access to some exclusive discounts through your devices too. The Prime Now App is also offering discounts on items with one-hour delivery.

But now, for the nitty gritty details... Similar to Black Friday store shopping, you're going to have to be fast to snag some of these picks. Like last year, the sale will include both Spotlight and Lightening Deals. Spotlight Deals on popular items last until the stock runs out, and Lightning Deals will launch every five minutes and run for a specific amount of time in limited quantities. The specific timing of these deals has not been announced, but the discounts will hit sometime between 3 p.m. EDT July 10 through end of Prime Day on July 11.

Restocking home essentials from Amazon Basics

Lightbulbs in particular are going on super sale, meaning you can stock up on long-lasting bulbs like this 6-pack of 60-watt soft white LED bulb, which will be discounted 25%.

2. A cheap home printer

Sure, we live in a very digital world, but some essential documents still need printed. Upgrade your old standby now. This Lexmark MS317dn Compact Laser printer will fall under $100 with 26% savings. This could be a good essential for that college-bound kid, too!

3. Bluetooth speakers for in and around the house

Snag this Shockproof and Waterproof Bluetooth Wireless Mini Speaker for just under $7 — great for camping, travel or by the pool. Our engineers in the Good Housekeeping Institute haven't tested how well this model works, but at a price like that, it's probably worth the gamble (if you're doing more research, we have tested these!).
